Mission Statement for the Catholic Services Appeal Foundation
The mission of the Catholic Services Appeal Foundation is to work with each of the parishes of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis to conduct an Annual Appeal to fund 18 Collective, Catholic Ministries within the Archdiocese that no one parish can support on its own. We call these Collective Ministries the Designated Ministries and they are fixed by the organizational documents of our formation, which require us to maintain our focus on these Collective, Catholic Ministries operating in our Archdiocese, which have essentially remained the same over the years the Appeal has been conducted. A major focus for us is effectively communicating the story of each of the Designated Ministries. Our obligation is to honor and implement donor intent, with full accountability to the donors, and full transparency as to where each donor's dollar is spent.
We coordinate and administer the Appeal on behalf of our parishes, providing them necessary resources and services, and receiving and distributing gifts from parishioners to and for the benefit of the Designated Ministries, including our local parishes. We strive to provide complete transparency about the use of the restricted gifts we receive and ensuring donors that their gift is used for the purpose for which they gave it. We are a Minnesota nonprofit corporation recognized as exempt under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) and operate exclusively for religious, charitable and educational purposes in conformity with the laws, theology, philosophy, teachings and doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church.
