Mission Statement for the Catholic Services Appeal Foundation
The mission of the Catholic Services Appeal Foundation is to work with each of the parishes of The Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis to conduct an Annual Appeal to fund 20 Designated Ministries within the Archdiocese that no one parish can support on its own. Some of the Designated Ministries are established pursuant to our organizational documents, which require us to maintain our focus on these ministries. A major focus for us is to effectively communicate how the Designated Ministries serve the poor, support life, strengthen the Faith, and transform lives through the Gospel. Our obligation is to honor and implement donor intent, with full accountability to the donors, with full transparency as to where each donor’s dollar is spent.
We coordinate and administer the Appeal on behalf of our parishes, providing them with the necessary resources and services, and receiving and distributing gifts from parishioners to and for the benefit of the Designated Ministries, including our local parishes. We strive to provide complete transparency about the use of the restricted gifts we receive and ensure donors that their gift is used for the purpose for which they gave it. We are a Minnesota nonprofit corporation recognized as exempt under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) and operate exclusively for religious, charitable and educational purposes in conformity with the laws, theology, philosophy, teachings and doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church.
