Saint John Vianney College Seminary (SJV)
The Saint John Vianney College Seminary (SJV) at the University of St. Thomas is a four-year college seminary whose mission is to provide essential training for tomorrow’s Catholic priests. It is the largest college seminary in the United States, with over 400 of its alumni serving as ordained priests.
Saint John Vianney seminarians receive an outstanding foundation in Philosophy and Theology. A four-year program of spiritual conferences and individual spiritual direction help them grow strong in their Catholic faith and vocational discernment. These elements are combined with the educational resources of the University of Saint Thomas--Saint John Vianney seminarians receive a full college and seminary experience. SJV means academic rigor, a sound formation program, and faithfulness to the teachings of the Church.
The Catholic Services Appeal Foundation funds room and board expenses for all men from the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis studying at SJV each year.
